Al Forcella
Director of Governmental Regulations and Codes
Mr. Forcella is a marketing executive with an extensive career spanning over three decades, primarily in the healthcare sector. He has a proven record of success in both fortune 100 companies as well as startups and early-stage growth companies.
After graduating from Temple University with a degree in Marketing, he dedicated 3 years of service to the military as a captain in the Army Quartermaster Corp, assigned to Korea he was personally responsible for a $100 million supply budget supporting the 2nd Supply and Transportation Divisions and the troops on the DMZ. He continued his education with advanced studies at both Columbia University and Wharton School of Business.
Mr. Forcella began his career with Marion Laboratories, a pharmaceutical leader responsible for the introduction of Silvadene burn and wound care therapy. He ultimately was responsible for creating and operating the Chain Drug and OTC Division of Marion producing incremental sales of $75 million in two years.
In the mid 80’s he was recruited by Becton-Dickinson, relocating to California to lead the sales and marketing of BD’s tissue culture product division. After negotiating a contract with National Institutes of Health, Al was able to double the revenues of the division.
Al led a regional Nursing Home supply business to become one of the first companies to provide wound care nursing and enteral feeding specialists to Skilled Nursing Facilities.
Specializing in Operational and Business development consulting, beginning in early 2000, Al successfully led numerous businesses from inception to acquisition. Those clients were in medical/surgical product manufacturing, and Medicare Part B reimbursable products allowing Al to deliver new product introductions to major healthcare product distributors such as McKesson, Medline and Cardinal Health.
In 2010 Al was responsible for leading an effort to introduce Behavioral Health Telemedicine to Rural Nursing Homes. Today telemedicine is leading the way allowing for quality healthcare with thousands of visits weekly and helping to address the mental health crisis in the United States.
Al and his wife Donna reside in Florida where they support various local charities and are lifelong supporters of the Shriners Hospital for Children and St. Jude Children’s Hospital. They lead an active lifestyle that includes biking, golf and trips to Italy.
